I’m Alanna Spees, and I have been an actively involved member of the Grand Valley for the past 10+ years and a licensed REALTOR® since 2018. And yes, I have a PhD (in Immunology if you’re curious) which has helped me become the person I am today. I’m also a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a gardener, a swimmer, a trail-runner, a bit of a coffee snob, and a solidly-intermediate skier.
I come from a career in science but started dabbling in real estate investing as a financial strategy. Over the years, I have grown several successful real estate investment companies, and as a result, I made the choice to dedicate my ongoing career to residential real estate development for myself and my clients alike. I bring over a decade of business experience to my clients, and chose to represent buyers, sellers and investors. More than anything, I believe in value-based service that brings together expertise, guidance and action to ensure that all my clients can make the best real estate decisions.

Deliberative
I am best described by the serious care I take in making decisions or choices. I anticipate obstacles and complications. The HSFM process appeals to my deliberative nature because it creates solutions to potential problems before we even get there. I am drawn to working with clients and colleagues alike to help solve problems before they happen. If and when we DO run into a hiccup, the deliberative part of me gives great care to revisit and reshape how we can do it better in the future.
Achiever
I work hard and possess a great deal of stamina. I take satisfaction in being productive, and setting timelines and goals to work towards achievement. Any achiever type knows that this strength is a double edged sword. I love making progress. I also have to remind myself to slow down and savor the journey (and try to get 8 hours of sleep a night). The achiever in me rejoices in walking alongside a client during their journey to home ownership, home sale or first investment.
Learner
I have a great desire to learn and want to continuously improve. The process of learning and improving excites me. The learner part of my strengths is what originally drew me to science and academics. There is a place for learning for the sake of learning. There is joy in applying this learning strength to make others lives better. When we work together, I like to start conversations with questions. I like to listen to people talk about themselves, their goals, their accomplishments, their hesitations and their hopes. Learning is a welcoming gateway to beginning a successful journey.
Developer
I recognize and cultivate the potential in others. I spot the signs of each small improvement and derive satisfaction from the evidence of progress. I come from a long line of teachers in my family. It seems to come naturally, and I figured it was just the nurture from my environment. My developer strength helps me connect with my clients to develop their knowledge and empowerment not just through their transaction process, but with a leveled-up understanding of how real estate works. This is knowledge they take with them forever.
Relator
I enjoy close relationships with others. I find deep satisfaction in working hard with friends and teammates to achieve goals. What’s life without human connection? I’m not an extrovert, but I gain tremendous personal purpose from developing meaningful, lasting relationships with my clients and colleagues.
