Is Convenience Killing Customer Service in Real Estate?

How our Homes Sold for More™ Team philosophy is different from traditional agents.

In one real estate transaction, I was working with a family of three adult children/spouses and an aging parent to sell the family home. Upon receiving multiple offers on “Mom’s” house, all the children expressed interest in meeting to discuss the terms of the offers. After each offer was presented (to a full house I might add) and all the terms, contingencies, risks, and processes were clearly explained, the family was able to choose the best offer for their mom.

Once we had things signed and I was making my way to the door, one of the adult children said, “Thank you Paul, my wife and I have bought and sold a number of homes, and no agent has ever sat down and explained things as thoroughly as you just did.” Another sibling immediately spoke up in agreement and mentioned how their last two home sales were done virtually, and they had no idea what they were signing or agreeing to.

The conversation blossomed from there and the three siblings and spouses calculated seven home sales and purchases in the last five years where not a single agent they worked with took the time to really explain what they were signing. It was simply “here is the price, closing date and couple other high points. If that works, I will send the documents to your email for digital signing.”

We love the use of the technology for signing documents, but the Homes Sold for More™ Team also believes a basic part of customer service is taking the time to explain the documents you’re signing in person, via video conference or on the phone. None of our clients will ever get the “I will email it over, just sign it” routine.  A full-time career in real estate is not the most convenient business as agents are on call every day of the week, every week of the year. Know that when you work with the Homes Sold for More™ Team, convenience will never trump doing things correctly, legally, or ethically.

You deserve better.
