There are several typical types of lockboxes that offer different levels of security. Manual/combination lockboxes can be purchased at places like Home Depot or Lowes. Alternatively, there are electronic lockboxes that licensed Realtors® in the Grand Valley get from the Grand Junction Area Realtor® Association.
Manual/combination lock boxes open 24/7/365 to anyone with the combination. There is no way of tracking who has been in your home.
Electronic lockboxes can be set to only open between the hours of 8 am and 9pm for licensed Realtors® in good standing with their association.
Electronic lockboxes are a game changer for increased security of your home. With their limited hours of operation and ability to know exactly who opened the lockbox and when they opened it, there is always a record anytime the box is opened.

The only time a Homes Sold for MORE™ agent would ever use a manual lockbox would be during a possible pre listing home prep period, or because the home is in an area with spotty cell service which is required to open the electronic lock boxes.
